Salve,
the internet world has been swept by a debate caused by the video of master archer Lars Andersen. - what a skill on this archer! But... there are problems with his historical claims and mysterious pronouncements.
There have been some level-headed, informed responses, eg by Mike Loades,[1] or by schola gladiatoria, and this one is a 'nice' critique so I am sharing it with you.
so do ponder while watching and perhaps eventually do go & get a bow and some arrows and then go practicing away - it is great, I assure you- :)
[1]
Mike Loades - I enjoyed his book on the English Long Bow and the documentary on the Egyptian New Kingdom chariotry.
Ps.
per archery I own a 55 pound horse Korean bow and enjoy my archery whenever I can, including 'hunting' animal-shape targets with it.
