two more sketches of hussars

two sketches of hussars mounted and dismounted :)
I used GIMP to enhance the watercolor and pen&ink drawings.
You blog has a lot of inspiring drawings! Nice early XVII century Hussar. Excellent for 4th July anniversary. Was it not the shoes were different than in late XVIIc., was it?
Czolem, thanks for your comment As per shoes, well we can guess, but there were many kinds of shoes and boots in the Polish military. The same Goluchowska Tableau has iamges of longer boots - eg http://www.kismeta.com/diGrasse/images/commander%20(3).jpg http://www.kismeta.com/diGrasse/images/pancerny%20(3).jpg and another early 1600s image of hussar http://www.kismeta.com/diGrasse/images/hussar%20(3).jpg so we could think of using longer boots as well. BY the way, tomorrow Warsaw's Wybrzeze Gdynskie will celebrate the Kluszyn 2010 with a camp, recreation of the combatants from 400 years ago and actual battle will take place as well...

czolem, I will post more and soon dear friend, soon, I am in Poland and my studio is far away... see ya on Sunday then - I went there today, very impressive, many people from Russia, Ukraine, Czech Rep., Sweden, hussars, hayduks, kozaks, met Rotameister of Gniew Hussaria and other members of that outfit (many Jareks :) ), Eric Jadaszewski et company from US, Jacek Komuda ... and many more fine people, including two funny Russian bus drivers who drove streletz company from Moscow, and other streltz company from Omsk in Siberia, Russia [sic!]
