Sheperd Paine - Maestro, pacem aeternam

Salve,
I just learned that il Gran Maestro of Military Miniature Modeling  Sheperd Paine passed away yesterday, August 1, 2015.
Mr. Paine was a great artist and innovator in the field of model miniature art, especially in the Box Dioramas
I have several books by Mr. Paine - also there is this  fine biography about the artist  - a review here -  and loved to read his advice and exchanges on planetfigure.
I personally met Mr. Paine during the World Expo Boston 2005, and I was so and still am proud of having had the chance of meeting this giant of art of miniatures.
Jim DeRogatis eulogy here

It seems that I have lost all my photos from the visits to the various miniature figurines shows I attended back in 2004-6, so no picture in this post.
