Horses in Arthur Rackham's illustrations

 Salvete Omnes,

today we are having a bit frivolous a subject - the fantasy art of Arthur Rackham (1867-1939) and the pure beauty and pleasure of viewing these plates and sketches - his book illustrations can be viewed via Archive or Wiki Commons etc (there are a few on the  FBC-Polish digital libraries site).

Maestro Arthur - quite enjoyable presentation on this page via Ytube - was a titan of  masterful illustration, with hundreds upon hundreds finished plates of most fabulous and imaginative art and many more sketches etc . Apart from multitudes of faeries, witches, goblins, magical themes, trees and human subjects there are also animals.
However, my beloved horses and equestrian subjects are not that frequent, and yet when and where they appear they are masterfully done.

I am enclosing some of these beauties for our enjoyment - enjoy tour weekend and may peace return to the world.

Poe's Tales of Mystery, Aesop's Fables, Gulliver's Travels, King Arthur's Romance, The Ring of the Niblungs etc:

Valete
