Good Friday - Day of Crucifixion of Our Lord circa 30 A,D., a little less than 2000 years ago.

So we will travel to circa 1455AD when unknown master painted this Crucifixion for the Benediktbeuern Abbey, in Bavaria.  The painter was contemporary to:

Konrad Witz  

and

Master of der Darmstädter Passion.

and a very interesting 1420s (XV century) northern German painting of Crucifixion, unknown master

. we can observe wide (woven?) cinches,  richly decorated bridles and tack,  dyed-leather large pommel and cattle saddles with skirts, rowel spur, long-leg ridding with heavy stirrups, and their riding attire of  the period. The gray stallion has his forelock gathered and tied up (Eastern or steppe fashion).

Passion of Christ from Très Riches Heures du Duc de Berry

Tres Riches Heures du Duc de Berry - French XV century manuscript is a veritable treasure chest of beautiful imagery and symbolism done in the most exquisite style and with outstanding artistic skill and talent. 

But since we are in the Holy Week - La Semana Santa - so I have collected the  Passion of Christ  illuminations from this Late Medieval book of hours or a collection of prayers unified in a book form for praying the canonical hours.
