Horses of Aniello Falcone

 Salvete Omnes,

Canicula or dog days of the summer are upon us - so back to some fine art history and here we go:
Aniello Falcone(1600-1656) a disciple of Jose de Ribera, Neapolitan epic painter of war and heroic epic stories. he painted extraordinarily precise and fabulous war horses. Presumably of his region, i.e., southern Italy, while he himself was a fighting man too, took part in the rebellion against the Spanish rule.

I wonder if these are Neapolitan horses ?

Certainly they are of proper size and even epitomize war horses of better breeding, perhaps thoses of the Italian peninsula but also perhaps of the North African Berber types and African Muslin breeding?
