Merry Christmas - Wesolych Swiat - Feliz Navidad
Salve,
what can I say - it is Christmas Eve so Merry Christmas to all :)
Wesołych, radosnych, zdrowych Świąt Bożego Narodzenia
Feliz Navidad
Life of Jesus by William Hole
and one by Albrecht Durer
I sent to you a question, never have gotten any answer;-(( Then once again- which picture is made by Durer. As a fun of Durer, I scanned very carefully every one but no one seems to be hiswork. Let me know which one and why you think is his. regardes, Gosia
hi Gosia, It is the last image ''The Flight into Egypt''/''Resting on the Flight into Egypt'' (''The Seven Sorrows of the Virgin'' polyptych ) - it is by Durer https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seven_Sorrows_Polyptych http://www.artbible.info/art/large/40.html http://www.wga.hu/frames-e.html?/html/d/durer/1/01/10seven2.html http://wn.rsarchive.org/Lectures/GA292/English/UNK1981/19170102p01.html
Dear Dariusz, you haven't read the description carefully enough- there is a suggestion that it was made by followers of Durer, not by himself, what can I agree. The hand, the manner isn't his typical and no his sign there.
well Gosia, be what it may, I had chosen not to mention that the polyptych might have been painted by the Durer's workshop instead of the Master himself ... Without that we would not have had this exchange which I appreciate a lot - :) ... too bad that donkey is the only equid worth looking at in these panels. There are some costume and weapons but they are for another day
