Salvete Omnes,
on the theme of camels in historic iconography - another does of the Iranian-Persian camel iconography - this time from the ancient Persian Achaemenid Empire - from their imperial palace complex at Persepolis, one of the official capitals of the empire.
Persepolis - the powerful Apadana imagery provides us with the examples of camels - both dromedary and bactrian - led by various delegations.
Here, the delegations from Parthia, Aria, Arachosia, Arabia and Bactria lead camels in tribute to their King of Kings.

Salvete Omnes,
one -
in 2016 I published my two Parthian sketches on this blog
The sketches are attached above
..simple cases of intellectual theft and plagiarism
Note, I have no issue with people taking my sketches from my blog and 'hanging' them up in the Pinterest galleries. But this type of 'taking' is odious and maliciously evil.

Salvete Omnes,
I would like to bring to your attention the works of a Czech master of the Golden Age of Illustration in the West, so to speak.
Venceslav Cerny ( Věnceslav Černý- 1865-1936) was a Czech maestro of book illustration and a prolific painter.
more to come - perhaps it will be a surprise of sorts -:)

today a quick trip - astride a camel -:) - to Herat & Tabriz during the Timurid period and early Safavid Iran.
Both camels - Bactrian and dromedary - were bred, milked, eaten, traded and used for riding, transport and as beast of burden in caravans within these realms.
Kamal-ud-din Bihzad was a courtly painter from Herat under the Tiumrid and early Safavid period -
