Pieter van Laer's horses

*horse and dog by van Laer Bamboccio

Salve,
the world fiesta of football aka Mundial is in full swing, I have been watching games every day, uff, and we are still in the first stage of the games.
So let me travel to the Golden Age of Dutch painting and there is a very interesting Dutch painter Pieter van Laer, who was a prey capable painter of horses. Unfortunately melancholy might have killed him prematurely when he was traveling in Italy. He was active in Italy where he was named Bamboccio*, and his followers were called Bamboccianti (in the linked above book p. 132 there is the explanation of his nickname)
Wikimedia Commons offers several examples of his talent and skills, so I am attaching them below
